        Specifically, the respiration of fruits and vegetables will increase with the temperature increasing, and the respiration intensity will double for every 10°C. When the oxygen is sufficient, the sugars or other organic substances in the fruits and vegetables are oxidized and decomposed, producing carbon dioxide and water, and releasing a large amount of ripening; while under the condition of hypoxia, the sugars in the fruits and vegetables can be decomposed to produce alcohol and carbon dioxide. When the oxygen absorbed by fruits and vegetables cannot be supplied in time and the exhaled carbon dioxide cannot be discharged in time, in order to obtain sufficient energy for life activities during hypoxia, more nutrients must be decomposed, resulting in the production of hypoxic respiration. The alcohol remains in the fruit thinning, causing the fruit thinning to rot and deteriorate. 

        In addition, ripe fruits will release ethylene (usually, ethylene is a colorless and slightly odorous gas with a density of 1.256g/L, slightly less dense than air, insoluble in water, and easily soluble in tetrachloride organic solvents such as carbon dioxide). If ethylene cannot be discharged in time, the ethylene concentration will continue to increase and the fruit will be ripened, which will make the fruit rot faster.

        The functions of perforated packaging of fruits and vegetables are as follows:

1. First, it acts as a shield for the fruits and vegetables in the package, which can reduce mechanical damage during transportation and sales; second, the fruits and vegetables are still breathing in the plastic film, which reduces the concentration of oxygen in the package and increases the concentration of carbon dioxide. Put fruits and vegetables in a dormant state to prolong their shelf life.
